Meet The Team

Marc Flaxman is currently finishing his master's degree at Manhattanville College in Sport Business Management. He interned last season with the New York Knicks and is looking to pursue a career in sports and entertainment industry. He is the son of Village Lutheran Church member and physician, Dr. C.A. Michelsen.

Sunit Khadge is an alumni of Concordia College (Class of 2010). He began running during his college years to unwind from school and work pressure. He used to cross paths with Pastor Rob many times on the Bronx River Pathway. This will be Sunit's first marathon. He is thankful to be a part of Team Chapel and run for The Chapel School. Sunit works as a Lab Technologist and Research Assistant at Michael A. Werner, M.D. His goals are to be involved in medical research to contribute to the public health sector and to live a purpose driven life all the time.

Pastor Matthew Gonzalez, an alumni of Concordia College, is the Pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church in the Bronx and is married to Katherine Gonzalez, Grade 5 teacher at The Chapel School. Pastor Gonzalez is also serving as the Youth Gathering Coordinator for the Atlantic District of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod and is a great friend of our Village Lutheran Church and The Chapel School community

Toni Romano has been a Chapel School parent since 2006. She is married to Edward and has three children Michael (9), Christopher (7) and Eva-Marie (5). Toni's fitness regimen involves Cardio Kickboxing, Running and MMA. This will be Toni's first marathon and she is thrilled to be supporting Team Chapel as she has been very involved with the school since her children began attending. Although Toni and her family will be relocating to Pelham this coming year The Chapel School will always remain a place near and dear to her heart. Her children have flourished in the extraordinary environment provided at Chapel and it remains a place where she has shared some of her most precious memories with them

Kristy Levinson has been a Chapel School parent since 2009. She is married to Joshua and has two children that attend The Chapel School - Zachary will be entering 3rd grade this fall, and Lucas will be entering 2nd grade. Kristy began running when she was 11 years old and competed on her middle and high school track teams until she graduated in 1991. Since then, she has continued to run for fun, fitness, and peace of mind. This will be Kristy's first marathon - she will also be running in the Westchester Half Marathon on October 7th. Kristy is very excited to be running her first marathon with Team Chapel to help raise money for The Chapel School which has been such a positive experience for the entire Levinson family. Her goals are to improve her overall physical fitness, to inspire her sons to continue to lead an active and healthy lifestyle, and to finish the race!

Pastor Hartwell has a long love for The Chapel School. His children, Alexander and Hannah, attended the school from Kindergarten through 5th Grade. He is married to Sue who served as a teacher at Chapel School for 10 years. Sue presently serves as a special education teacher and works on-on-one with children at area schools including Chapel. Pastor Rob, as he is known, has served as the Associate Pastor and Chapel School Liaison from 1998-2003 and Senior Pastor/Trustee of the Church and School since 2003. He began running several years ago after a successful fundraising challenge that saw him lose over 100 pounds (as well as over $400,000 in matching funds for the Chapel School). Pastor Rob and Sue love to walk and are enjoying a "sometimes empty nest" with both children in college. Pastor Hartwell ran the Westchester Half-Marathon with Team Chapel for the Chapel School in 2009 and the New York City Marathon for Team Chapel for the Chapel School in 2011. He is working at hitting sub 9 minutes miles and plans to run a half or full marathon in the winter (somewhere warm).
