Meet The Team

George Heath has been with Village Lutheran Church and The Chapel School for twelve years. He serves as the cantor for the church, and music teacher for grades 3-8 for The Chapel School. He is also the parent of two Chapel School students. Running has become one of his favorite hobbies and is very pleased to be able to support such a worthy cause.

Anderson Kenny is an architect who lives in Mount Vernon and practices in the Manhattan. He is running on behalf of Team Chapel for two reasons. The first is to help raise money for the scholarship fund at Chapel School. “It is a wonderful school that has benefitted our family greatly.”  The second is to finish the New York City marathon, an item on his  “bucket list.” He has only run one marathon and that was about 15 years ago. 

Dave Porter is a high school Chemistry teacher near Buffalo, NY.  His connection to The Chapel School is through his sister, Chapel School's pre-School - second grade music teacher, Mrs. Kate (Porter) Marino.  Outside of teaching, Dave started distance running in 2012 in preparation for completing the Buffalo Half Marathon.  Since then, he has completed three addition half marathons, and most recently in June 2014, the Syracuse 70.3 Half Ironman.  Dave looks forward to completing his first full marathon in NYC in support of The Chapel School.

Randy Watkins is proud to join Team Chapel for the first time. Nieces Lorelei and Audrey Heath are students and Brother in Law George Heath is Staff. A long time runner, this will be Randy's second Marathon and his first full Marathon since he ran the Marine Corps Marathon in 1995.
