Linda Bennett
Linda Bennett is a married mother of two who works in advertising. Her son graduated TCS and her daughter is currently in seventh grade. She is a member of the PTO and the Village Lutheran Church Board of Trustees. She ran the NYC Marathon as part of the Inaugural 2011 Team Chapel. Linda is excited to run for Team Chapel Arts because both of her children were members of the drama department, select choir and band during their years at Chapel.
Rev. Dr. Robert Hartwell
Pastor Hartwell has a long love for The Chapel School. His children, Alexander and Hannah, attended the school from Kindergarten through 5th Grade. He is married to Sue who served as a teacher at Chapel School for 10 years. Sue presently serves as a special education teacher and works on-on-one with children at area schools including Chapel. Pastor Rob, as he is known, has served as the Associate Pastor and Chapel School Liaison from 1998-2003 and Senior Pastor/Trustee of the Church and School since 2003. He began running several years ago after a successful fundraising challenge that saw him lose over 100 pounds (as well as raising over $400,000 in matching funds for the Chapel School). Pastor Rob and Sue love to walk and are enjoying a "sometimes empty nest" with both children in college. Pastor Hartwell ran the Westchester Half-Marathon with Team Chapel for the Chapel School in 2009 and the New York City Marathon for Team Chapel for the Chapel School in 2011. He is the honorary coach of all Team Chapel runs as the founder of the team and is excited to run with others on behalf of TCS Arts.
George Heath
George has been with Village Lutheran Church and The Chapel School for twelve years. He serves as the cantor for the church, and music teacher for grades 3-8 for The Chapel School. He is also the parent of two Chapel School students. George is a "barefoot" running enthusiast and has run both the NYC half and full marathons in 2014 and the NYC half in 2015. In addition to performing, teaching, and running, George loves spending time in the mountains fly fishing and enjoying other outdoor pursuits. He is proud to run for the fantastic arts program at The Chapel School!
Lida Mora
Lida F. Mora has been a Chapel School parent since 2008. She is married to Andres Amador and is the proud mom of Sofia who attends the fifth grade at The Chapel School.
This will be Lida’s first 10K race. Lida is very excited to run her first race with Team Chapel Arts representing The Chapel School which has been such a wonderful and positive experience for her family. Her goals are to meet this personal challenge as a way to enhance her fitness and wellness and to inspire her daughter to have an active and healthy lifestyle. Lida is a licensed clinical social worker practicing in Forest Hills and Harlem. For the past thirteen years Lida has dedicated her professional life working in the recovery of World Trade Center responders and promoting student engagement, performance and retention in the City University of New York.
Jennifer Slattery (Merritt)
Jennifer Slattery (Merritt) is mom to Cullen and Lila, Chapel School fifth and first graders. She has been a Chapel School parent for almost four years. She and her family are members of VLC and recently moved to Tuckahoe from Pelham. Jennifer is a longtime business journalist. She is currently an editor at the BBC for its website, where she manages and runs BBC Capital, including editors in NY and London and freelancers all over the world. This year she turns 40 and has vowed to return to running in a bigger and more committed way.
Adrienne Stewart
Adrienne Stewart has been a Chapel Mom since 2007. She and her husband Mark are the proud parents of students Jordan (8th), Kyle (5th), and Aiden (1st). Adrienne has served on the Chapel School PTO Board in various capacities for the past 6 years and is excited to run her first 10K after a 16-year hiatus in support of The Chapel School. Aside from managing her boys’ active schedule, Adrienne also manages Blue Mercury, a luxury beauty retail chain located in Bronxville, NY.
Elaine Strommen
Elaine is excited to run her first Northface endurance challenge. The prospect of running a race on a trail up Bear Mountain sounds both crazy and fun.
Her son attends The Chapel School and she is grateful for the many wonderful qualities the school offers, including the arts program.
